Which raises a subject I've always wondered about. Please give us credit for having done that. The cited links do not directly discuss or illuminate the fact that the offending image is both a different image from the good one and then modified. It is not at all clear that there is a problem until you look at the version I cited above.
It is true that this user has created a problem in the past, but his last action here was three months ago. I do not see any evidence of his having "been warned by an admin not to", so I have warned him. Other than that, I see no reason to take any action now.      Jim . . . . My previous warning was {{Dont recreate}}, which had little to do with vandalism. Since his last upload was in December, I see little point in a short block -- he may not even notice it. I have closed one of the DRs. Apparently Evelyn-Theresia thinks that the description is incorrect, but that is not a reason for deletion. However, you should not have removed the DR from the file page -- the DR must be closed in the regular way. I think the {{Delete}} on your user page was a mistake by a new user. The repeated DRs on one of your images was a reaction to your incorrectly removing the {{Delete}} before the DR was closed.
I myself would not have responded to your "WAS MACHST DU???" It strikes me as aggressive and uninformative. If you really want an answer to a question, you must provide enough context so that the recipient can answer without having to figure out the subject of the question. And you should not do it in all caps -- shouting.
You are a very experienced editor. Evelyn-Theresia is a newbie. We try hard to be kind to newbies -- not shouting at them when they make mistakes. I know that is sometimes hard, but we were all newbies once.     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 11:12, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello, commons wikimedia Administrators!, I want to receive some information in order to three deletions from who´s know?, because there are somoeone who is not letting us in relation for documentary University Center work and in ths case user:Skapheandros have been suffering around 5 times the same vandalism, to know with our contribution images, this anonymous User is deleting cultural questions.As If I want to put a legal demand one day to this one wh´s advise administrator, how I can it?, I want to receive information for all these actions against me and us, the creative commons administrators and usuaries for what´s this person didn´t let know us.

This other one is deleting images of us Science,Technology and Art , Túrelio (talk) while the other User:Foroa and Denniss (talk | contribs).

I think beliving for anynothing in theirselves of the effect anonymous vandalism this is the last deletions.

Hello, commons wikimedia Administrators!, I want to receive some information in order to three deletions from who´s know?, because there are somoeone who is not letting us in relation for documentary University Center work and in ths case user:Skapheandros have been suffering around 5 times the same vandalism, to know with our contribution images, this anonymous User is deleting cultural questions.As If I want to put a legal demand one day to this one wh´s advise administrator, how I can it?, I want to receive information for all these actions against me and us, the creative commons administrators and usuaries for what´s this person didn´t let know us.

Date vandal

I think we have someone on our hands who has been vandalizing the dates of photos from at least two accounts Joe the Red Bird (talk · contribs) and Joey the Tin (talk · contribs). I figure anyone who is doing this from two accounts is probably doing it from more. cialis vandalism wave

The last few days I've noted a wave of "cialis" vandalism, i.e. unsolicited postings/comments often containing mainly nonsense, but always the word cialis, which is the marketing name for a drug against some special dysfunction (en:Tadalafil). Most often it is placed file talkpages or user talkpages, rarely in such a vandalist manner as here by 94.181.154.156 (talk · contribs). Vandalism of Mohammed Image

File:ProphetOfPeace.jpg and File:Football at Milan.jpg (identical files) are used to vandalise Template:Created with/en. These two images were uploaded by User:PftMhmd and User:Valueseveek 3 minutes apart from each other. I have reverted the first vandalism on the template, however, User:Urgemeans890 undid my edit. Vandalism - user Silar

Hello! We have another vandalism acts and editions war caused by User:Silar (earlier case was with Category:Alicja Wosik). Nowadays we have a new problem with that user. Please take a look at File:00876 Archäologischen Ausgrabungen auf dem Michaelerplatz vor der Pfarrkirche in Sanok. Zustand am 15 Mai 2012.JPG and reverted editions Silar. I edited this file by adding the new and right one "over category", because the ilustration concern the place "Category:Świętego Michała Square in Sanok" so right is the [[Category:Excavations at Świętego Michała Square in Sanok]].

When I change category into the this special category, in response Silar deletes my editions. I really don't understand unjustifiable and unfounded reverts of User Silar, that seems as thoughtless acts. I mention, that this case in not the first that concerns Silar. I wrote him a post on his discussion site but there is no discussion with him - no any talk with Silar, because he don't want to discuss and never answers. And additionally he deletes posts of other users at his discussion site - please take a look at that - it's blank page. It's not the first time he do like this. It is an unacceptable situation, when the user blocks out the content of discussion page, so there is no direct way to prove a talk or posts.

Jermboy27 again in action

  • Reasons for reporting: Jermboy27 is again in action. For user who don't know who is him, he's the wizard of road signs: creator of tables of signs into invented countries (as Hotsapore, Badziki, Dozec, Rafid etc...), crosswiki vandal into the same field with an impressive number of multiple IPs, uploader of down-scaled copies of existant files of signs...
The "Moriarty of Vandals", as i said in my last notice about him some months ago. Because he's very able to hide his vandalisms, masking them with serious (or similar-serious) edits. As Road signs of Belgium, patrolled by me today, or Road signs of Japan (august), created by him as a copy of enwiki article, than vandalized by anons in last months. Style is always the same: when he do a serious edit, he vandalize it blanking or adding other, doing edits with nonsense comments as what do you want? (what WHO want?). This is a quite perfect strategy. To create confusion into users, confuse his hundreds (!) of edits and to make a general check and fix quite impossible, because he seems to be always present on Commons, and lots of this anons escaped from my 1st and 2nd notices in august and january.
An example lookin' at 203.59.18.201 contribs into file descriptions: is this imperceptible (by kb) change or this other serious or not? I really don't know. I can't patrol, also because edits as this one, by the anon listed above, are hundreds or thousands. Road signs of Sweden was clearly vandalized (massive blanking), but... in Ireland or in Spain, Italy (created by Jermboy2012 -banned-), Germany, France, Poland? The strategy is to confuse: edits with nonsense phrases as yeeeeah!, what you want?, not any more... some edits very constructive... but hoaxes and jokes scattered everywhere, in files as in galleries... and they are quite impossible to patrol for a single user who reports his activity here. In the months (because i've noticed him here twice with details) I've learned his tactics. He increased contributions and, from 2012, in an exponential way. If him and sp were circa 10, contemporary acting into few fields, by now i can extimate they are lots more, with lots more of contribs on differents pages and files.
I've found my past notices about him:

  3. My detailed report of December (entitled 124.148.202.69 a.k.a. Jermboy (again))
All details of user's habits, deleted pages, indef blocks, list of sockpuppets are listed there. Mainly the 2nd and the 3rd are very detailed, including the crosswiki vandalisms detected at Polish, French and English Wikipedias. Sorry if some link is not reported here.
To end: For all of this reasons and user characteristics, I think that the user is become more dangerous for Commons (and for all Wikimedia projects) than the famous "WoW". He's a sort of genius between vandals. Differently from a typical one, that uses to making fun of WM projects with blatant vandalisms simply to laugh of us, to troll, to revenge of somebody. A troll or a spammer is simple to discover, notice and block. He's another thing. Road signs are widely showed into Wikipedia tables and useful for readers. A good way to mine the reliability of Wikimedia is to make little changes, to seem serious into contribs at almost, to confuse patrollers, to change basic datas of used files, or for example to change population datas, birth days, using some tricks to bypass tag filters. Vandalisms as this may stay months or years. If i blank a page writing hallo my vandalism is reverted by a bot in 30 seconds... User makes thousands of edits with lot of ips. I've listed only 8 acting in last days but, following the histories of various pages, they are more. Lots more. Still today I was able to patrol all suspected vandalisms of vandals noticed by me. I had difficulties in december to check contribs by Jermboy... But by now I can't: the activities of all this sp in last months is unbelievably enormous. I'm really sorry for this and I suspect to have discovered only the summit of the iceberg, because I noticed him 3 times but from 2012 I've noted anything.
IMHO, the issue of Jermboy is more than a simple case of "the vandal laughing of us". An user spending all this time to edit seriously as an alibi and, contemporary, to scatter hoaxes and imperceptible vandalisms seems to be an user that is searching for a way to "destroy" reliability of Commons and WMF. Is it a way to make a strict and selected long rangeblock avoiding to block thousands of users? Is it a policy on Commons to report a mail to his provider (sorry if my terms are not technically corrects) or to a judiciary institution (i'm only asking)? As for an "ip search" site IPs seems to come to the same place of a country... I avoid to write cause I don't know if it's forbidden, also if the ip search are, of course, only approximate. I've asked this because the possible dimension of damages could be (very) greater of my hypothesis, difficult to check without a specific task force and Jermboy's "jokes" seems to increase considerably after each reporting. This is only a summary of IPs acting in last months... Some edits are perfectly valid, main problem is the same: Jb27 create a good page, he contribs to it with a dozen of ips, sometimes vandalizing his work and sometimes improving... and... after months he simply blanks it... And also Mathonius have discovered and reverted some of this self-blankings. The style is always the same: see for example -this vandalism with "not any more!"... as for other edit summaries as this one, or the what do you want?-style ... does he speaks alone or with a road sign poltergeist? Seriously, there are lots of them also in december, at the time of my 3rd report. Nothing seems to stop him and, for exemple, there are two of this ips, noticed with bold text, acting yesterday and some hours ago. Road signs in Austria, his creation, is (or seems to be) good but... how many time will pass and it will be blanked, hoaxed or else; as the Japanese-related gallery? Just to say, all the IPs (I controlled) come from the same area. Hmmm... I'm watching, the ips are lot and, of course, JB seems to be not interested by the warning notices, blocks and other. This you reverted is the usual vandalism about categories, this "thanks!" is the usual conversation with a poltergeist... Does the user has an EVP on PC telling him -vandalize, vandalize!-? :-) ... Of course, not an explaination by him of what he's really doing, the initial edits or road signs in xxx pages are useful, just to wait for a future partial blanking... User IMHO wants to disturb, to confuse; a very laborious way to make fun of us. And I've seen he knows when/where stop suspect contribs. Controlling all this contribs and find what are vandalisms and what not, is simple as to separe water from olive oil in the same glass. I'm impressed by the number of IPs... We could link the 4 reports on Commons, make a list of socks and ips, to trace a list of crosswiki sockpuppets, to link useful pages at enwiki (as the SPI page dedicated to him or the categories of confirmed and suspected sp), to link this new report page to the admins of enwiki (in which he's operating), or also fr.wp, pl.wp etc... Just to maintain a page with all this content because, as I see, he has no purpose to stop, but to continue day by day, with a battalion of IPs... I created new category Category:Okopisko at Jagiellońska Street in Sanok. It is the garden/park at Category:Jagiellońska Street in Sanok. Former was it field of jewish cemetery. The problem could be word "OKOPISKO" - see definition at polish wiki [27], that says it could have negative meaning. BUT further, the nexr sentence of that definition we have another meaning, that in Category:Subcarpathian Voivodeship (region of Poland; Sanok lies in it) this word has NEUTRAL poignancy. So there is no problem, there is any antisemitism in it, it is used by people, mayors, historians and has in that case no "bad blood" and no good will. I gave the few verifiable sources: 1, 2, 3.

I cleared it in Commons:Categories for discussion/2012/06/Category:Okopisko at Jagiellońska Street in Sanok.

Besides the new created category by user IP 46.174.26.245 (and accepted by User:Foroa) is wrong. Because 1) it isn't square!!!! it is garden with different geometric shapes. Second, there isn't only one garden at Jagiellońska Street in Sanok, so how could be named this place as only square???

I mention that IP user 46.174.26.245 it is User:Silar - he makes regular vandalisms and impermissible editions.

The term "Okopisko" is not used anywhere in the verifiable sources. No encyclopedic and antisemitic content. The term "Okopisko" literally means - graveyard of dead animals. You know, I get a little concerned about Commons when a user uploads a file that he supposedly made, calls it "public domain", says in the description "this is public domain prease dont bann me viacom lol" and nobody apparently notices. See here for exactly the above. Same user also uploaded this, which is some random unidentified person, "public domain" because "some guy sent it to me." This, which should have been flagged for filename, this(which I have no idea what it is), and this, which is blatant trash. All have suspect licenses, one has an open OTRS ticket for some reason, and all of these files have been used for nothing except vandalism on enwiki (just see enwiki contribs for the same user, who was just banned for a month for deliberately triggering the edit filter). the "Le jew face" pic was inserted in Adam Yauch's article and anything with a Hebrew title. "My first song" ended up in Aphex Twin and several other articles.

I have requested deletion of all these files, but I see no reason to wait the month to six weeks it usually takes for some sort of consensus to be built up. Deletion of Photoshopped picture

--First off, I am not very familiar with how to use wikipedia(as you can see i created this account today)and have been editing articles without logging in. But i needed to report a file and decided to create an account. I apologize if this is a duplicate request. I have created a request on the Village Pump page as well.

I am trying to nominate a picture for deletion. It is located at the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bushra_Ansari1.jpg and has been (badly) photo-shopped. In addition, I would like to remove that picture from the Wikipedia entry of that actress. There is one user that is hell bent upon presenting baseless arguments and "proofs" that the picture is authentic and has been very proactive in preventing the picture from being deleted both from wikipedia and also from the Wikipedia page of that actress. Based on the page history of that actress, that user continually monitors it and reverts any changes where anyone removes the picture from the page. I personally don't have the sort of time that individual does to continually compete with him as it's pointless to do so. He is convinced that the picture is real and doesn't waste a second to re-add it to the article. There for I would like to go through the correct route and have this issue resolved. I am computer science major and can vouch that the picture is photo-shopped. In addition here is some actual proof to my argument rather than claims made by the user (Basheera Masih is his name) :

-In another picture from the same event, Bushra's cleavage is slightly visible but that is a completely different picture that does not lend anything to the credibility of the photoshopped picture in question. -Any attempts to remove the picture from the actress's wikipedia page have been reverted by the user Basheera Masih, who claims that the actress communicated to him that the picture is authentic. Bushra Ansari is Pakistan's busiest performers and does not have an official email address, her facebook page is also maintained by fans and isn't official. Somewhat funny claim by a user who had been blocked[60] for vandalism after making edits such as [61], [62], [63], [64], [65]. Anyway, "out of scope" is per se a legitimate deletion rationale. As admins on this project every day have to delete so many copyvios, promotional and other out-of-scope uploads/pages in the short time we have, any of us can err every now and then. While this may be unpleasant at the moment, it isn't an act of vandalism and can easily be reverted. Trust me, if I wanted to steal another users work and pass it off as my own, I could easily do so, I certainly wouldn't use their attribution license and hotlink their original file in the description box! The map has been carefully discussed on the talkpage of [of Europe], as can be seen at [talk page]. This morning, a Turkish user replaced the map with a new version in which he had inserted a rather extreme Turkish POV. The Kurdish areas in South-Eastern Turkey had been colored Turkish. Even more bizarre, relatively large areas of Germany had been colored as Turkish-speaking!! While there are a fair number of Turkish immigrants in Germany, it's absurd to claim that Turkish is the main language in large parts of the country. To the best of my knowledge, no German city is majority Turkish, let alone a German region, and most second-generation Turks in Germany speak German. In addition to the imposing Turkish on the Kurdish areas and parts of Germany, the Turkish language areas of Bulgaria and Greece were also modified, but these changes are small. This is a rather clear case of a nationalist-driven POV-pushish made without even discussing the matter first. The same user already has several blocks for disruptive editing, and is currently edit-warring with a similar Turkish POV at Bulgaria [67], [68], [69].

I´d like to point out that Эlcobbola talk deleted an image, thus vandalizing it, [[70]] after the discussion was closed. The top of the page clearly states: This deletion debate is now closed. Please do not make any edits to this archive. You can read the deletion policy or ask a question at the Village pump. If the circumstances surrounding this file have changed in a notable manner, you may re-nominate this file or ask for it to be undeleted. It is unacceptable for any administrator to go against established rules and bypass procedures to fit their fancy. I request that the image be reinstated and if anyone thinks that the deletion procedure be reinstated, so be it. Administrators have a duty to act within the rules and follow proper procedures. @Tomascastelazo, just to be sure: is your strange header "Unlawful deletion" a legal threat? Who has violated what law in your opinion?
Besides, your claims about the process seem non-factual to me. Let's see the chain of events: nearly a year after keep-closure of the initial DR, the image had been speedy-tagged by 1Veertje. Jim, aware of the earlier DR, kindly converted the speedy to a new DR to allow again for dissussion. In this new DR discussion there was 1 keep and 1 delete "vote". Two weeks after the last comment, Эlcobbola evaluated the case by himself and decided that it needs deletion. No problem with the procedure.
Sure, such a copyright scenario (copyrighted character on a balloon) is not an easy black and white one as it escapes the standard provisions of copyright laws. However, as long as copyvio is a real possibility, we need to delete per COM:PRP in order to protect re-users from costly litigation for copyright infringement by the copyright holder. --Túrelio (talk) 07:48, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

By unlawful I mean outside proper procedure. There was no new deletion request, just an add on to the closed one. If the image was kept, why was a speedy deletion tag even allowed? I just do not see a new DR, just a buch of admins covering each other´s back to suit their fancy. I upload serious material with value, and it really bothers me to have it censored by reasons that live in minds that are not necessarily knowledgeable in the matter that they judge. Rules are applied selectively and even the participant admins in this case violate the spirit of Commons with impunity. Take the gallery of 1Veertje for example, full of Out of Scope images that should be deleted, even possible copyvios, yet nothing is done about it. There was no new deletion request, just an add on to the closed one => if an image is being nominated for deletion not for the first time, then the DR script adds the new request automatically to the same page below the old DR instead of creating a new page. It often happens that DRs are reopened for a variety of reasons. As mentioned above, DRs are usually filed under the filename of the picture proposed for deletion. This explains why there are two successive but different DRs on the same page. The deletion-request rationale is the same for both images and both contain a slanderous misrepresentation of Commons by the uploader. Copyright violations have nothing to do with "free speech" and deletions of copyright-violating material from Commons is not censorship. Hello all. I'm from vi Wikipedia and I'm helpless to notice you that a sockpuppet from vi Wiki is still trying to add wrong info into our projects. Its name is "Krolet".

Actually, its original name is "Namkhanh02" and was blocked by Commons sysops some weeks ago for vandalism. Its new puppet Krolet has tried to upload a lot of images with fake source and fake license. Here's an example:

  • Firstly, this sockpuppet always describes image's source as "Originally from vi.wikipedia; description page is/was and ... here.", but FYI there's no such thing in vi Wiki.
  • Secondly, this puppet always describes image's license as "public domain" but actually it just downloads images from Vietnamese websites and uploads here with fake license.
  • Thirdly, this puppet tries to add wrong info into Commons. Here's an evidence: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Archeological_objects_of_Vietnam&action=history

Explanation: the puppet tries to categorize "Cartoons of Vietnam" as ""Archeological objects of Vietnam"'s parent category. Now you can see how shifty it is.

This is crazy but many of Vietnamese sysops just don't care about undoing this puppet's trashy edits. I hope you guys can find some method to block this sockpuppet forever.
